Intriguing post. As a former practicing lawyer I have a hard time wrapping my mind around the idea of law practice being fun. AND to be fair I do know a few lawyers who enjoy what they do. I think a key piece of it, as you say, is enjoying your colleagues and clients. Bringing your personality to work even.

There was a terrific collegial atmosphere at my last firm. We had Cake Day once a month to celebrate birthdays and the associates made an effort to find any occasion to go out for a celebratory lunch. One of the name partners also organized an impromptu Easter Egg hunt after an associate jokingly asked him if we were having one. Imagine associates and staff racing down hallways knocking each other over to find chocolate eggs. Didn't contribute to the billable hours but boy did it make the office fun!

Practicing law IS fun. And the new look of the website will be up and running on Monday. It will be bare bones for a few months while we (and visitors) fill it with content!

Thanks for the mention. Hope your teleseminar-thingee went well. If I was better organized I could have made it. I guess I need a teleseminar in order to get myself organized to attend the teleseminar. But I would probably miss that teleseminar too...
