She is a registered patent attorney and is admitted to practice in Georgia, the District of Columbia, and Florida. Julie holds undergraduate degrees from Vanderbilt University (B.A. in English, 1990) and Georgia State University (B.S. in Biology, magna cum laude, 1998).

In 2005, Julie founded Life at the Bar Coaching LLC, through which she provides executive coaching to assist attorneys in developing the skills necessary to support a successful practice, to build an expanding client base, to take on professional leadership roles, and to integrate their professional and personal lives for maximum effectiveness and satisfaction.  Julie holds a leadership coaching certificate from Georgetown University and the ACC credential from the International Coach Federation.  She has also completed the "core essentials" program of a major coach training institution.  She is a member of the ICF, the Metro DC Chapter of the ICF, and the Georgia Coach Association.
